I was in a computer game, where I was a pink fairy with wings and had to defend my castle. I had 3 helpers in a tower across the front courtyard, armed with rifles. An enemy charged my front door, in front of a little fountain, and she had a special power: whenever she was attacked, she would get visibly older, with the aging absorbing the damage. Once she had stored enough energy, she would release it in a damaging burst, and become young again. Only my magic could harm her. I watched as my helpers shot fruitlessly at her, the bullets bouncing off, and even local townsfolk attacked her to no avail. I basically had to defeat her before her bursts broke my castle.

I woke up from the dream and found myself at school, and I was late in getting outside for my dad to pick me up. I was really flustered, because I couldn’t remember almost anything about my day at all! I could have sworn I remembered getting there in the morning, but none of the classes came to mind. I thought I was going crazy! My dad was waiting in his car, so I ran outside – the front of the school was in the middle of city traffic on a busy street corner. Suddenly, I remembered that I had to get Max too, so I quickly raised my hand to let my dad know that I had to go back inside. I walked through a large grey, featureless room filled with kids waiting for their rides, but couldn’t find Max.

Then I remembered he would still be in his homeroom. I walked towards it and found that this part of the school was extremely fancy and modern, with glass wall-lined classrooms and bright glowing yellow lightning suffusing every room and hallway. When I found Max’s class, he ran out to greet me – then I saw that he was 6 foot 2! As we walked together towards the exit, I remarked how insane it was that he had such a huge growth spurt in only one day – and at age 5! That my own hadn’t been until I was 15. He answered in a deep voice, saying that it wasn’t a big deal. It seemed that we walked and chatted forever, I estimated about 30 minutes, though it was probably actually 30 seconds. By the time we got outside, I couldn’t see my dad’s car anymore! It must have been hard to wait in the traffic. I felt a bit of panic and guilt, but then I woke up for real.
